Connection 20th Anniversary - Growth Guide

Care Mistakes
Care mistakes are when the Tamagotchi calls for attention (indicated by the attention light turning on and a beep playing) and the user fails to address the cause of it within 15 minutes.
Care mistakes are not cumulative and reset with each growth stage.
On the 2024 Connection, they are divided into two types: physical and mental.

Physical care mistakes occur when the following happens:
  • A call is missed for an empty hunger meter
  • A scolding call is missed
  • The Tamagotchi is not cured when it is sick and calls for attention

Mental care mistakes occur when the following happens:
  • A call is missed for an empty happy meter
  • A praise call is missed
  • The light is left on when it goes to sleep (this call has an hour to be attended to, unlike other attention calls)

Winning certain games can reverse care mistakes:
  • Bump and Heading will reverse physical care mistakes
  • Get ♪ and Flag will reverse mental care mistakes

Tiers
Like the V3, characters are placed into different care tiers that determine their path of growth and how many care mistakes are necessary for certain tiers during later stages. All characters in a tier are equally likely to appear, and different characters make up these tiers in odd-numbered generations versus even-numbered generations.

These tiers are:
  • Serious (healthiest): Obtained with 0-1 mental and physical care mistakes.
  • Normal: Obtained with up to 2 mental and physical care mistakes.
  • Naughty: Obtained with at least 2-3 mental care mistakes and less than 2-3 physical care mistakes.
  • Frail: Obtained with at least 2-3 physical care mistakes and less than 2-3 mental care mistakes.
  • Stubborn (unhealthiest): Obtained with at least 2-3 mental and physical care mistakes.

Note: A child born from two unhealthy parents cannot become a Serious adult.

Lifespan
  • Baby: 1 hour
  • Child: 24 hours
  • Teen: 72 hours
  • Adult: 7 days
  • Senior: Infinite until death by neglect or Tamagotchi is married off
