Santaclautchi - Care Sheet

STATUS ICON

The first icon is the status menu. It is broken up into two different options.

Status menu broken up into two separate sections

  • Status (ステータス) shows Santaclautchi's current age and weight (both age and weight start off at 100), followed by Hunger (おなか), Happiness (ごきげん), Santa-ness (サンタらしさ), and Destination Distance (みちのり). Pressing the B button advances the menu, while the A button goes to the previous screen.

Santa-ness サンタらしさ: A bell will be filled for each Tier 3 evolution you get. They can't empty, even if you drop down a tier. Once all bells are filled, you'll be able to get the secret items from the game.

Distance みちのり: When full, Santa will deliver the presents. It doesn’t go up if Santa is sulking, and it goes up faster the higher Santa’s tier is.

  • Stock (ストック) - Santa can hold up to 4 Mince Pies ミートパイ (meal) and 4 slices of Cake ケーキ (snack) in his bento.

Unlike other virtual pets, when you feed your Santaclautchi, he will not eat the food right away. Instead, he will stash the foods and snacks into his bento and eat them throughout the day whenever he wishes to.

SANTA-NESS

Represented by four bells, Santa-ness describes how close to being Santa Claus your character currently is. Each bell lights up once Santaclautchi gets any of the four Tier 3 evolutions / companions:
  • Hat Santaclautchi
  • Classic Santaclautchi
  • Sleigh Santaclautchi
  • Rednosetchi companion
The four forms can be obtained in any order. Once the Santa-ness meter is completely full, two secret transformation items can rarely appear in the Chimney Game, and the user will be able to change Santaclautchi into any of his forms without impacting the Santa-ness.

TIERS

There are 3 tiers of Santaclautchi transformations. Each transformation requires a special item.
The tiers are as follows:

Tier 1

 Snowboard Santa
 Sailor Santa
 Scholar Santa
 Tonanyorotchi companion

Tier 2

 Magician Santa
 Penguin Santa
 Skate Santa
 Tontakotchi companion

Tier 3
 Hat Santa
 Classic Santa
 Sleigh Santa
 Rednosetchi companion

Companion eggs become obtainable after day 8.

DESTINATION DISTANCE

As you can probably observe, your Santa walks all the time in one direction - he's contantly on his way to the place where he is supposed to deliver Christmas presents. Getting Santaclautchi's special evolutions and companions will cause this meter to fill up faster (Hat Santaclautchi form, Classic Santaclautchi form, Sleigh Santaclautchi form, Rednosetchi companion). You have a full two weeks to fill this meter up.

CHIMNEY GAME

Sleeping tama - WIN ☀️

Covered in soot - LOSE 🌧️

Transformation item! 🎁

The game is the third icon, represented by a christmas stocking. The game has only one round. The user must select one of three chimneys for Santaclautchi to jump into. When he does, he will either find a sleeping Tamagotchi (considered a win) or get covered in soot (lose). Every two games will reduce his weight by 1, and winning will increase the Happy meter by 1.

From the third day on, if the Advent Calender had been opened each day, the chimneys will sometimes give evolution items. Like with finding the sleeping Tamagotchi, this is considered a win, and the item will be added to the inventory (4th icon). Starting from the eighth day, a reindeer egg can also be obtained. Once the Santa-ness meter is full, there will also be a chance of finding the two secret evolution items.

SULKING

Occasionally, Santaclautchi will get upset and begin to sulk, facing away from the screen. Selecting the item icon will give him a letter from a child, cheering him up. Failing to respond in time will make Santaclautchi return to his cabin.

EVOLUTION ITEMS

Unlike regular Tamagotchis, the Santaclautchi uses different items to transform into different forms. These items are stored under the bag icon. There are six items in total, and the inventory can hold up to seven of each. An item that has never been obtained is represented by a black box with a white question mark.

Obtainable items:
  • wrapping paper (standard transformation)
  • chisel (standard transformation)
  • yarn ball (standard transformation)
  • egg (companion)
  • poison (secret transformation - Prank Santaclautchi)
  • perfume (secret transformation - Missy Santatchi)

Santaclautchi can use these items (except for the egg) to transform into different forms. Apart from the two secret items, each of the three main items has three possible transformations. Once used, the item is consumed. One item can be obtained from the daily advent calendar, while additional items can sometimes be won from the Chimney Game.

SUPER KUCHIPATCHI

Throughout the day, Santaclautchi may feel like he's had enough and run away, disappearing from the screen. It can be 0-3 times a day, but usually it'll be 1 or 2 times. You'll hear some beeps, and the screen will be empty except for the call icon being lit up. (Between the 17th and the 24th of December, the jingle will be different. Keep an ear out!). When that happens, you should summon Super Kuchipatchi, who will fly through the screen and drag Santaclautchi back (which is a hilarious sight to be honest). Bringing Santa back with Super Kuchipatchi is vital for moving up the tiers, as it fills up an invisible "Kuchi Scale".

  • Santa starts in Tier 1, at 1 on the Kuchi Scale (RED)
  • He moves to Tier 2 at 2 on the Kuchi Scale (ORANGE)
  • He moves to Tier 3 at 4 on the Kuchi Scale (GREEN)

Answering one "Kuchi Call" will move you up 1 step on this scale.
However, missing a call will move you backwards 1 step. You can even end up in the negatives - Santa will remain Tier 1, but it will require more calls for him to be able to move up to Tier 2. If you miss calls, you may drop down a tier, and will have to answer more Kuchi Calls to get back up. This will not affect your Santa Meter. It’s also possible to build up a buffer in Tier 3, so that you can miss more Kuchi Calls without getting moved down.

If you don't miss any calls, you can get to Tier 3 in 3 Kuchi Calls, which will likely be Day 3. You won’t be able to fill the Santa Meter until Day 8 though, because you need the reindeer egg.

If you consistently miss calls, you can end up very far down the scale.

ADVENT CALENDAR

The Advent Calendar will show a window on the left, and the current month and day on the right. Once a day, the window can be opened and give one of the four standard items. On the 8th day, you'll get an extra exciting gift from your calendar - a reindeer egg! You can't get the reindeer egg until this day, but once you've collected it from the calendar you'll also be able to find it in the chimney game. The reindeer you get will be dependent on which tier you’re in when you hatch it.
On all the other days, your item will be a random transformation item.

TAMA TV

Here's where Santa can check up on the tamagotchi children getting ready for Christmas. The animation will change every day for 9 days. From the 9th day, until the presents are delivered, Mametchi will be patiently waiting by the tree.
Once the distance meter has been filled and Santa has delivered the presents, Mametchi will be shown with his new present!
Santa will deliver presents regardless of whether you filled the Santa Meter or not, but the animation will be different if you have full santa-ness.
However, if the distance meter is not filled after two weeks, Oyajitchi will get impatient and knock the tree over! This is the bad ending.

TRIVIA

The Mayor has noticed that the tamagotchi children all believe in Santa Claus and are expecting him to deliver presents on Christmas Eve, so he’s taking on the role of Santaclautchi himself! As he travels, his distance meter fills up, with the goal of delivering presents in two weeks. If he finds items along the way that make him more like Santa, he’ll be able to travel faster. But if he sulks along the way, he’ll travel slower, and may not make it in time for Christmas.

Although he starts inside his cabin, he'll be sleeping in a tent for the rest of his time with you. The lights will turn off automatically at 9pm, and he'll wake up at 8am the next day.

When Santa reaches his final destination, he’ll deliver presents to the tamagotchi children.
If you’ve succeeded in helping him become the true Santaclautchi, you’ll get the true ending, with a special animation!
If Santa is too slow, Oyajitchi will become impatient and knock over the Christmas tree. Better luck next year!
